More than 70 players receive skills training
at 'Joga Bonito' Soccer Camp

On April 25th, Grapevine's Community Outreach Center partnered with the Grapevine-Southlake Soccer Association to present Joga Bonito – "Play Beautifully" in Portuguese – a high-quality soccer camp for neighborhood kids who are not currently involved in organized soccer.

More than 70 area kids participated in the second-annual camp, held at Cross Timbers Middle School. The participants receiving individual skills training from soccer coaches and got a chance to meet players from semi-professional soccer team Dallas City FC.

Both kids and parents were on the pitch to learn from the pros in a series of skills stations focused on passing, dribbling, crossing and shooting. In addition, the kids received lunch donated by Jersey Mike's Subs and participants received soccer equipment such as shin guards, socks, balls, jerseys and shorts.

Thanks to the event's organizer – GSSA Field Commissioner Nirav Assar – and to Dallas City FC, Jersey Mike's Subs, GSSA, and everyone who helped sponsor the event.
