Fall 2020: Important Updates

Parents, players and coaches:

In light of the continually developing COVID-19 situation in the State of Texas and uncertainty about GSSA’s plans, I wanted to provide these brief updates:

  • GSSA’s Board is still planning to deliver a Fall Recreational soccer season for our youth. Although we’re still working out the details of what the season will look like, we are currently anticipating a league similar to what we’ve offered in past seasons. We expect that the season will start the weekend of September 12.
  • However, if you DO plan to register your player, it will help us if you do so as soon as possible. If our players register very late in the process, smaller registration numbers will impact our decisions (including size of teams, playing format, etc..) We also need an accurate player count so we can make sure uniform kits are delivered prior to the start of the season.
  • If you register, you will receive a full refund if – prior to August 16 – you change your mind and decide not to play OR GSSA makes a decision to delay or cancel the season.
  • If we are forced to cancel after the season begins, all players will receive a 50% refund.
  • We will, of course, be implementing safety guidelines based on state guidelines for sporting event safety and North Texas Soccer’s Return to Play guidelines and local ordinances. As always, we will update you as we firm up our plans.

Thanks for your patience and your support.
